It has been called the American royal wedding, and it promises to be the most anticipated wedding of the year: the one between Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, expected over the weekend of July 2-4, 2026.
Taylor Swift, the famous American singer, and Travis Kelce, a well-known player for the Kansas City Chiefs, have been dating since July 2023. After a first, unsuccessful attempt by Travis, who tried to give her a bracelet engraved with his phone number at the end of one of his concerts, it was a mutual friend — a true “cupid” who has remained anonymous — who introduced the two.
Their relationship was later made official in 2024, followed by numerous appearances as a couple, both at his matches and at her concerts. Among the most memorable moments was the kiss the two shared in February 2024 during the National Football League championship game.
The wedding date is certainly no coincidence: Taylor has always been deeply attached to the Fourth of July, a symbolic day for US citizens.
The proposal
The proposal followed tradition, with Travis kneeling in front of the singer, in August 2025. The football player surprised Taylor in the garden of her Kansas mansion, set up for the occasion with a six-meter arch, thousands of roses and candles. According to experts, he spent around 30,000 euros on decorations alone.
The official announcement of their engagement came through an Instagram post by Taylor Swift, captioned: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married“.
The ring
The ring was commissioned from jewelry designer Kindred Lubeck, founder and owner of Artifex Fine Jewelry. The choice fell on a diamond as rare as it is precious, with an old mine brilliant cut: a vintage and unique choice, perfectly suited to our singer.
According to Stephanie Gottlieb, Taylor Swift’s trusted jeweler, the natural diamond should measure between 8 and 10 carats, worth between $400,000 and $800,000. Other experts in the field, however, estimate that the diamond could reach a size between 10 and 15 carats, at a cost ranging between $750,000 and $1,000,000.
It is a natural diamond, extraordinarily rare in size and characteristics. Early versions of this cut were handcrafted centuries ago and, even today, continue to be appreciated by connoisseurs and collectors.
Unlike modern cuts, the old mine brilliant cut is distinguished by a lower return of light: the central part of the stone in fact features a characteristic “window” through which part of the light disperses. This detail, an emblem of ancient craftsmanship, combined with the oval and elongated shape of the stone, makes Taylor’s ring a one-of-a-kind piece.
What do we know about the wedding just around the corner?
According to media reports, the location is expected to be Madison Square Garden. This is suggested by the lack of events scheduled this week at the famous arena in the heart of the Big Apple, and by the hotel reservations of several Kansas City Chiefs players at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square. It is also rumored that a white staircase and a plywood castle will be installed to make the atmosphere even more magical and theatrical.
Among other rumors, it emerged that the couple has adopted a strict “no gifts” policy, forgoing a wedding registry as well: a choice more than consistent with their social and economic status.
They have also openly confirmed that they follow their “No ring, no bring!” principle, meaning: if you are not married or engaged, your companion stays home.
We are ready for the wedding of the year. Are you?
