The engagement and the ring
Dua Lipa and Callum Turner met in 2023 at The River Café in London. She was having dinner with her father, he was with friends. The co-founder of the venue is said to have introduced them.
The engagement between the two reportedly took place at the end of 2024, during the Christmas period. In fact, Dua Lipa showed the ring at Christmas 2024, in some photos, indirectly.

The ring was custom-made with the contribution of Dua Lipa’s sister and her close friends, to ensure it perfectly reflected her personal style. It features a central diamond on a thick yellow gold band. The diamond cut has been described as round brilliant (or old European).
The ring’s technical features:
- diamond estimated at around 2 carats (some estimates go up to 3–4 carats);
- 18k yellow gold;
- rather thick band, about 5 mm.
Their engagement was confirmed by Dua Lipa herself only last June, during an interview for British Vogue.
Why Palermo?
Dua Lipa’s first connection with Palermo dates back to 2023, when she was chosen as the face of a collaboration between Puma and Palermo FC for the launch of the new rosanero kits. On that occasion she posted a shot wearing the club shirt, helping to ignite the enthusiasm of the Palermo people and giving rise to a sort of “platonic love” towards her.
In the summer of 2025, the couple was spotted in Palermo, on vacation. Dua Lipa posted a carousel on Instagram with photos of their vacation, captioned “Palermo in my heart”. During the holiday, the couple had stayed at Villa Igiea: a luxury 5-star hotel overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea and at the foot of Mount Pellegrino.
According to rumors reported by the Giornale di Sicilia, the couple once again chose the same venue, booking the entire floor for a week, from September 5th to 7th, to host their guests. The Sun speculates on a guest list that would include Elton John, Olivia Dean, Mark Ronson, Donatella Versace and Charli xcx.
Furthermore, it would appear that the wedding planner chosen for the occasion is Alessandra Gallo, the same one who organized the wedding between Fedez and Chiara Ferragni in 2018.
